Make party season dressing uncomplicated and blissful this year, with our New Year’s Eve Linen Outfits, which feel and look exclusive, and you’ll love to find an excuse to wear them the rest of the year.

With any luck, these linen clothing inspirations will allow you to be your most unhindered, authentic self for New Year’s Eve and for nights out during the other 364 days of the year. Because you’ll actually love how the pieces feel on your skin, and unwearable, uncomfortable fashion is so last year.

We’re also sharing some of our favourite New Year’s traditions from across the world, from paper-shredding and bonfires to cleaning houses, to really get you in the party mood. Because what says party more than cleaning?

We hope the ease and effortlessness of this natural textile will help propel you into a New Year without too much rushing or stress, and instead one where thoughtfulness, connection and purpose are prioritised (even if that sometimes includes a movie-binge or chocolate croissants in bed).

Throughout the blog, we’ve also scattered some quotes that reflect the intentions we’re setting this year for ourselves.

For a Black-Tie Party: our Tuxedo Black Linen Dress

Step into every room as your most graceful self with our Tuxedo Black Linen Dress, that’s our more feminine take on the iconic le smoking look, by the maestro himself, Yves Saint Laurent. In its natural element at a black-tie event or night at the ballet, we hope our linen dress will save you whenever you have a special event to attend.

Styling Ideas For a Sleek, High-End Look:

  • Tonal styling (black, white and metallic accents)
  • Leather wedges or mules (think minimalism)
  • Sculptural cuff bracelet
  • Over-the-shoulder shawl

Styling Ideas For a Bolder Look:

  • Animal print shoes or bags
  • Dramatic red lips or heels
  • Attention-grabbing jewellery (classic pearls or modern sculptural designs)

Accenting a predominantly black linen dress with leopard print (or even zebra, very in right now) adds a little more drama to your outfit. You could choose a bag or even shoes in the animal print, and let all your friends know you’re in the party mood.

A high collar won’t work well with most necklaces, but it loves earrings. You could go for the timeless Breakfast At Tiffany’s look and choose pearls (dewdrop earrings or designs that mix pearls with metals are having a moment right now). Or make more of a contemporary statement with chunky gold hoops or oversized geometric designs, and always remember the chunkier the better.

A pop of bright red infuses just the right hint of sultriness and makes sure you won’t be home before midnight. Whether it be a red lip or rosy-hued shoes, the holiday season is the perfect time to be bolder with your style choices. Keep all the other pieces in similar tones of black or white, and you’ll nail it.

If you’re planning on dancing the night away, flat shoes are still a dressy option. Particularly ones that are more on theme and aren’t scared of sequins, sparkles or a little glitz. Silver and gold ballerinas would both be a stylish match with this linen maxi dress.

Be the woman you want to be.”

Once the parties are finished, it's time to unwind at the coast or an all-inclusive resort with our linen beach dresses edit, where we share styling ideas so you can wear linen throughout the silly season and the summer.

For Dinner Parties or the Resort: our Serpente Dress

The flowing design and silk organza-like fabric of our Serpente Dress adds a little understated glamour to your holiday season. It will fit in just as easily at a 5-star resort as at an evening extravaganza hosted by your closest friends.

Our original limited-quantity black & white print is easy to style, and ensures you’ll be the only one at the party wearing this design. The versatile wrap style can be tightened or loosened to your preferences and is made to flatter every body shape. So, you can feel confident and focus on which cocktail you’d like to order next.

How to accessorise this linen wrap dress? It’s all about uncomplicated elegance. Think strappy sandals, heels or flats and a fringed purse or raffia bag. Almost any colour matches with black and white, and we’d suggest natural textures and fabrics, creams and browns to amplify the holiday feeling.

If you like to be more adventurous, an intricate brooch is a lovely finishing touch to this dress. Apparently, all the coolest fashion girls are doing it, and the more unique your placement, the better: on the waist, lapels or even in your hair.

New Year’s Traditions From Around The World

Sometimes we get bogged down by the stress of goals and resolutions, or by a jam-packed schedule. It’s lovely to also remember the wholesome side of the New Year, and enjoy the peace and quiet (if only just for a second).

Below, we’ve gathered some fascinating traditions from different corners of the world that could give you a few ideas for your own celebrations. Also, if you have a unique way to ring in the New Year, we’d love to hear from you!

  • In Japan (First Sunrise of the Year): many people love to set their alarms early and wake up in time to watch the first sunrise of the year, on January 1st. Sounds like a wonderful idea, whether you’re fresh as a daisy from 8 hours' sleep or just getting home from the party of the century.

  • In Argentina (Shredding of the Old): it’s popular for people in cities to shred old documents and papers and throw them from their balconies, to symbolise a fresh, new start. Seems very cathartic and fun.

  • In Iceland (Community Bonfires): there’s something so mesmerising about huddling around a fire with friends and family, and it’s an ancient ritual that’s in humanity’s history. For New Year’s Eve in Iceland, there are giant bonfires lit around neighbourhoods, helping bring communities together and offer much-needed warmth in the winter.

  • In China (Massive House Cleaning): for those of us who love cleaning, especially when stressed, we might be adding this tradition to next year’s celebrations. In China, people rigorously clean their homes on New Year’s Eve to sweep away the old and bring in the new. Unfortunately, the fun doesn’t last all night, and the cleaning has to stop at midnight.

  • In Australia (Morning Ocean Swims): what’s a better way to start the New Year fresh than literally and metaphorically cleansing yourself in the ocean? There are many early morning dips happening all around the country on January 1st, and it’s especially beautiful if you can catch the sunset at the same time.

I don’t feel the need to be perfect anymore. It’s liberating.”

For Family Lunches and Hosting Duties: our Collo Alto White Top

If you prefer a more low-key New Year’s Eve (and we totally relate), our Collo Alto White Top is a versatile essential. With its effortless drape, it's made for entertaining at home and being in bed by 10 PM. The best part is that it’s such a classic cut, you’ll be wearing it again and again, not just for one night.

The minimalist design calls for refined accessories, such as precisely tailored linen pants and sculptural clutches. This is the time to bring out your dainty jewellery or a statement cocktail ring, and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

If you’re on hosting duties, you’ll love how linen tops sit on your skin. It won’t restrict you at all or leave you flustered. Instead, you’ll feel completely composed, and like you’ve grown four arms and can suddenly pour wine and clean up spills, all while laughing at your parents’ jokes.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.
